The 31-year-old systems analyst was killed instantly when a backyard gender reveal ceremony escalated into a localized bombardment.
Mark Jenkins, 31, of Scottsdale, died Saturday after sustaining a direct hit from a devastating blue confetti artillery barrage during a backyard gender reveal ceremony. A systems analyst by trade, Jenkins was known for his quiet reliability, surviving two consecutive DIY bathroom remodels without filing for divorce, and holding the cul-de-sac record for returning a borrowed extension ladder in under 48 hours.
He was a wonderful husband who always said he wanted a boy, but mostly just didn't want to assemble another crib.
Jenkins is survived by his wife; their unborn son, whose gender was successfully communicated to a four-mile radius; and a partially cratered half-acre of Bermuda grass. Services will be held Thursday, pending the clearance of unexploded streamers.
